Marjorie Gross, age 97 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born August 12, 1923 in South Gifford, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence and Florence (Griswold) Kessinger. On December 23, 1939 in La Plata, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Raymond Gross who preceded her in death on March 24, 2007.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sons-in-law, Romaine Turner and Kent Troester.
Surviving are one daughter, Ronda Troester of Columbia, Missouri; three grandsons, Kendall (Judi) Turner of Clive, Iowa, Brian (Sharon) Turner of Columbia, Missouri, and Chris (Erin) Turner of St. Charles, Missouri; one step-granddaughter, Kimberly (John) Moore of Kirksville, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Ryan (Lori) Turner, Alison (Justin) Frette, Brennon (Nicole) Turner, Landon Turner, Natalie Turner, and Megan Turner; four step-great-grandchildren, Lauren (Kaleb) Wulff, Chandler Davis, Abby Moore, and Anna Moore; three great great grandchildren, Clara Turner, Lincoln Frette, and Bennett Frette; and one step-great-great-granddaughter, Payton Wulff.
Marjorie had a great love of music and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She was a talented vocalist as well.
Marjorie and Raymond lived most of their married life in La Plata, Missouri, moving to Kirksville in 2005. They enjoyed traveling very much and had traveled worldwide in their younger years.
She was a member of the La Plata Baptist Church where she was recognized in later years as one of the oldest long-time members of the church.
Marjorie held her family close to her heart, enjoying the time spent with each and every one of them.
A private family funeral service will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
