Philadelphia 4 – BUFFALO 3 (OT)… The Flyers came from three goals down to outlast the Sabres and extend their winless streak to 18 games. Ivan Provorov found the net 42 seconds into overtime. Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux both had a goal and an assist during a three-goal third period. Couturier’s goal tied the game with 1:29 left in regulation.
PITTSBURGH 2 – N.Y. Islanders 1… Anthony Angello and Jared McCann netted first-period goals and the Penguins hung on to edge the Islanders. John Marino and Mike Matheson assisted on both goals.
Edmonton 3 – TORONTO 2 (OT)… Darnell Nurse lit the lamp 17 seconds into overtime to send the Oilers past the Maple Leafs. Mike Smith made 29 saves at goal.
COLORADO 5 – Anaheim 2… Gabriel Landeskog and Tyson Jost scored second-period goals to give the Avalanche the lead for good in their defeat of the Ducks. Goalie Philipp Grubauer needed just 13 stops to notch his 100th career win.
Winnipeg 5 – CALGARY 1… Mark Scheifele scored two goals and assisted on another as the Jets skated past the Flames. Nikolaj Ehlers set up three goals.
VEGAS 4 – Los Angeles 1… The Golden Knights breezed past the Kings after spotting them an early goal. Tomas Nosek scored the go-ahead goal in the second period. Jonathan Marchessault had two assists.
SAN JOSE 4 – Minnesota 3 (SO)… Erik Karlsson scored twice in regulation and added the decisive goal in the eighth round of the shootout as the Sharks outlasted the Wild. Ryan Donato assisted on two goals.
