KHS Tigers Fall To Mexico

The Kirksville Tigers saw the season draw to a close in the District Championship game, losing to Mexico 62-51. The Tigers were outrebounded all night, and Isaiah Reams had his usual great game for the Bulldogs, scoring 19 points. Mexico made just one trip to the free throw line, indicating how little Mexico was challenged underneath the basket. Noah Copeland led all scorers with 24 points. After Copeland, the next highest Tiger scorer was Keaton Anderson with 8 points, including two 3’s in the fourth quarter. Mexico led by 15 at the end of the 3rd 52-37 before KHS fought back to close to within 6 in the fourth period, but Mexico’s Daeye Miller had three open layups in the fourth on his way to 16 points on the night to close the deal for the Bulldogs 62-51. A crazy year comes to end for the Tigers, who finish 16-7, won the championship of both the Highland and Macon Tournaments, and had an entertaining district semifinal win over Moberly.
