Tigers Knock Down Moberly To Advance

The Kirksville Tigers used a strong 3rd quarter to beat Moberly 65-49 Tuesday in the district semi finals at Tiger Gym. KHS led by six going into halftime, 36-30. Then the Tigers ramped up the inside game to outscore the Spartans 19-8 in the 3rd period and took a 55-38 lead into the 4th, and the Tigers go on to win 65-49. Noah Copeland led the way for KHS with 17 points, 16 for Isaac Danielson, and 13 for Keaton Anderson. As usual, Jaisten Payne led Moberly with 25, Derius Wallace chipped in with 12. KHS climbs to 16-6 on the year and will head to top seed Mexico in the Class 5 District 15 championship game Friday. The Lady Tigers will play there on Thursday for the girls championship.
