The Kirksville Lady Tigers fought hard against powerhouse Chillicothe, but fell short 47-39 Thursday at Tiger Gym. KHS outscored Chillicothe 17-7 in the second quarter to take a 25-19 halftime lead. But then Chillicothe turned up the heat in the third quarter, outscoring Kirksville 13-3 in that period. Lady Hornet Essie Hicks took over in the second half, and led all scorers with 20 points. KHS had three in double figures, Kenslie Stufflebean and Corinne Vorkink each with 11, Jenna Jackson with 10. The Lady Tigers slip to 9-9 on the year, still 5-2 in the NCMC.
