Mary Lou Chester Glidewell

Mary Lou Chester Glidewell, beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed peacefully in the home of her daughter Nancy Holt on January 28, 2021. Mary was born in Artesia, New Mexico on January 25, 1926. She married Wilber Paul Glidewell of Milan, Missouri on November 14, 1948 in San Dimas, California. She and Wilber moved to Milan and lived on the Glidewell family farm until 1958 when they returned to California.

Mary was a hair stylist in Chino, California where she owned her own salon. She was well loved and had many friends from every place she lived including California, Missouri, Colorado, and Utah. She served and helped others in her family, community, and her church. Mary served a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her husband Wilber in Sacramento, California.

Mary is survived by her five daughters, Melody (Duane) McNamee of Hurricane, Utah, Lyndie (Jerry Morris) Glidewell of Menifee, California, Johonna (Pat) Speidel of Seaside, California, Nancy (Jack) Holt of Fallbrook, California, and Molly (Charles) Lyon of West Valley City, Utah. She had 27 grandchildren and 73 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber, and her foster daughter, Lizette Perry (Mike) Stevens of San Carlos, Arizona. Mary will be interred in the Milan Oakwood Cemetery next to her eternal companion.
They met at a dance and will be dancing for eternity.

A funeral service for Mary will be held 1:30 PM, Friday, February 5, 2021 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan.
