Jacob Vernon Zuspann, age 94, of Edina, MO, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at his grandsons home rural Green Castle, MO. He was born on August 24, 1926, in Lewis County, MO the son of Clarence N. and Marguerite Battles Zuspann. He was united in marriage to Ruth Maurine Oldfather on August 24, 1950, in Quincy, IL and she preceded him in death on November 9, 2020. Vernon was also preceded by his parents, one son Kevin Mark Zuspann, one brother Virgil Zuspann and one Sister Edwina Allene Clark.
Surviving are, one daughter Sherrie Beth Zuspann of Kirksville, MO, two grandchildren Jason (Jessica) Zuspann of Green Castle, MO, and Curtis Zuspann of Kirksville, MO, four great grandchildren, Marshall, Brayden, Cameron and Mitchell Zuspann, one niece Connie (Billy) Early of Edina, MO, and one nephew Harry Lee (Diane) Oldfather of Edina, MO and one step-brother-in-law Stanley (Maurine) Shearer of Kansas City, MO.
Vernon received his education in Lewis County, MO. Vernon was a mechanic and truck driver. In his earlier years he worked on jet engines. His hobbies were water skiing, riding motorcycles, quail and pheasant hunting. He enjoyed working on antique tractors.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Doug Wilson will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Jason Zuspann, Billy Early, Harry Lee Oldfather, Jeremy Holman, Orin Ledford and Curtis Zuspann.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. till time of services at 2 p.m. in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
