Canton beat the Kirksville Lady Tigers 42-32 to claim 3rd place at the Highland Tournament Friday. In a game played on Canton’s home floor, the Lady Tigers were held scoreless in the 2nd period. Canton went on a 10-0 run in the 2nd. Still, KHS got to within 34-30 in the fourth, but could not overcome Nariah Clay’s 8 4th quarter points to help Canton pull away. Clay finished with 18 points, and went 6 for 7 from the free throw line. Corinne Vorkink led Kirksville with 10. The Lady Tigers drop to 1-5 on the year and will get ready for a road trip to Macon on Tuesday.
