Theresa “Maxine” (Yearns) McBee, 96, of Kirksville, Missouri, went to Heaven Monday, December 21, 2020 at Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville.
Maxine was born in Queen City, Missouri, June 16, 1924 to the late William “Shirley” and Eudora (Lovekamp) Yearns. She had one sister, Bearda Stiles and one brother Lloyd Yearns who preceded her in death. She married Arthur Oren McBee in 1943 who also preceded her in death in 2000, and a son Charles McBee in 2011.
She is survived by one son, Richard (Pennie) McBee of Greentop, MO; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Maxine was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. She helped her husband on the farm, putting up a garden, milking, and caring for the sheep, cattle, and her many cats.
Maxine was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church east of Queen City as a child and later attended New Harmony Church west of Greentop, MO. She spent many loving years as a 4-H leader and later in life was a dedicated genealogist.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020 at New Harmony Cemetery in rural Greentop, Missouri, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating.
No public visitation will be held.
