The Kirksville Tigers knocked off the Centralia Panthers 48-28 in Centralia Thursday night to open the season with a victory. Noah Copeland hit the 1,000 point mark for his career in the second half on his way to a team leading 18 points on the night. Kirksville took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Panthers 15-6 to take a 24-13 lead at halftime. The Tigers struggled from the free throw line, shooting just 7 out of 15, but they were able to to give Centralia fits with their pressure and forced 15 turnovers. Isaac Danielson was the other Tiger in double figures with 11. Next, the Tigers are scheduled to host Clark County in the home opener Tuesday.
