The Kirksville Tigers impressive season came to end in the district semifinals at Moberly Friday, falling to a stoked up Spartan team 55-14. Moberly took the opening kickoff and in just four plays found the end zone with 10:07 left in the first quarter. Moberly would never look back. Fullback Jarrett Kinder scored four touchdowns for Moberly, and quarterback Dominic Stoneking threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Moberly racked up 387 yards of total offense, 244 on the ground. The Tigers rushed for only 68 yards. Jaden Ballinger completed 15 out of 20 passes for 241 yards, two touchdowns to Noah Copeland, but two big interceptions. KHS committed four turnovers total on the night which proved to be costly. Copeland’s touchdown catches were for 16 yards and 28 yards. Kirksville finishes with a record of 6-5. Moberly moves on to the district championship game and will host Hannibal next Friday. The Pirates beat Mexico 42-0 in the other semifinal game. Moberly beat Hannibal earlier this season 14-13.
