Paul Brian Purkeypile

Paul Brian Purkeypile, 58, of Unionville, MO passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 17th, 2020, of natural causes.

Paul Purkeypile was born at Scott Air Force Base, IL on September 24th, 1962, the son of Donald and Maria (Rigo-Hernandez) Purkeypile. Paul then decided he wanted to join the Air Force to become an aviation mechanic. Having his background in mechanics, Paul was always tinkering with engines, especially lawn mowers. He loved to hunt and fish and could often be found at the City Reservoir. As a young man Paul loved to play all kinds of sports with his son, Bryan and Tanner which was his son on summer breaks. Later in life he enjoyed watching and following many sports teams but especially the KC Chiefs and the St Louis Cardinals on TV and radio. Paul will also be remembered as being a pool shark. He loved playing pool with all his friends and family and won many trophies which he was proud of.

Paul Purkeypile is survived by his son, Bryan Purkeypile of Indianola, IA (formerly of Unionville, MO). Paul’s surviving siblings are Dewey Purkeypile of Cincinnati, IA; Nancey Lawrence and husband Chris of Louisville, KY; Donna Kramer and husband Herman of Alma, MO; Evelyn Thomas and husband Brad of Gilbert, AZ; and Ronald Purkeypile. Paul is also survived by many nieces and nephews and had a special impact on Tanner DeCoteau and god- son Tyler Ryals.

In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by a brother, Tim Purkeypile and best friend, Uncle Mike Weatherly.

Memorial services with military honors for Paul Purkeypile will be at Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 24, 2020, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment will take place later.
