Dellie Lee (Davis) Thompson

Dellie Lee (Davis) Thompson, 95, of Carmichael, CA and formerly of Sullivan and Macon County, MO passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 in Carmichael, CA.

The daughter of John Francis and Grace Drew (Johnson) Davis was born on December 1, 1924 in Ethel, MO just before her identical twin, Mellie Dee. On March 28, 1948 in Chicago, IL she married Robert Wayne Thompson who preceded her in death on May 21, 2007.

Dellie is survived by her two daughters, Sandra L. (Bruce) Mizer, of Sacramento and Debra Thompson (Lynn) Carmack, of Milan, MO; one grandson, Robert Charles (Holly) Mizer, of Arcata, CA; one sister, Aldena Bailey of Scio, OR and seven nieces; Kay Bilyeu of El Cajon, CA, Linda Mintle of Scio, OR, Wanda (Mick) Baird of Albany, OR, Janet (Jim) Dobson of Moorcroft, WY, Joyce Ortiz of Gillette, WY, Barbara (Dan) Boggs of Wright City, MO and Patricia (Thompson) Deeker of Washington D.C.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, J.R. Davis, and five sisters, Mellie Pellegrini, Irene Ratliff, Elnora Burnett, Gracie Thompson and Merta Malloy.

Dellie and Mellie graduated from Ethel High School in 1943 and immediately went to work at the Chicago Rivet & Machine Co. in Oak Park, IL. Dellie and Wayne left Chicago area to farm the family farm near Winigan, MO for nine years before moving the family to Tacoma, WA in 1958. Dellie began working for a clothing factory in 1967 and later worked for a company making fishing tackle. She retired in 1986.

Her hobbies included gardening, growing many flowers, sewing, painting ceramics, traveling and caring for her loved ones.

Graveside services for Dellie will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Baker Cemetery, Southwest of Green City, Missouri. Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City is handling arrangements.
