Kenneth W. Wright, age 79 of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Mexico, Missouri.
Born December 21, 1940 in Callao, Missouri, the son of Woodrow and Lyvola Nadine (Burke) Wright. On January 14, 1978 in La Plata, Missouri he was united in marriage to Tamera Wood who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Kim (Scott) Jenkins of Trophy Club, Texas, Kourtenay Householter (Harold Huss) of Nashville, Kansas, and Nickie (David) Bingham of La Plata, Missouri; four sisters, Kathryn (Jack) VanLue of Buchanan, Michigan, Lyvola Hogsett of Macon, Missouri, Shelly Smith and Becky Clark both of Higbee, Missouri; five grandchildren, Raleigh Myers, Remi Jenkins, Brittaney Morehead, Bryce and Brianna Bingham; three great grandchildren, Kinzlee and Kamie Morehead, and Bentley Bingham; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and three brothers, Lloyd, Floyd, and Bob Wright preceded him in death.
Kenneth was a graduate of Callao High School. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. He had been employed with BNSF Railroad as an electrician until his retirement. Kenneth was a member of the American Legion Post # 282 and attended the Community Presbyterian Church in La Plata. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandkids.
Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2020 in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Jacksonville, Missouri.
