Cindy Jones

Cindy was born July 5, 1947 in Unionville, MO to Rodney Bine and Mary Audrey (Hayes) Veach. She passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 very peacefully at Des Moines Mercy Hospital.

Cindy attended Mendota School and Unionville High School. She married Carl Jones on November 23, 1963. To this union, two children were born.

Cindy worked alongside Carl from the day they were married. While Carl was gone during the week on the truck, Cindy and the kids took care of the hogs and everything that was needed around the farm. After, Carl quit trucking, and they started row crops and raising cattle, Cindy was in the field and with the cows right beside Carl every day. Cindy was always a room mother for both kids. Even when she was in the field, she would leave to bring homemade treats and games to their classes. All their friends loved when Cindy was coming to the school. It was a joke as to what color her hair would be that year. The kids’ friends loved going to their house. Cindy would always fix homemade pizza or anything they wanted to eat.

Cindy’s pride and joy were her grandkids and great grandson. After Carl and Cindy retired, they bought a bus and were going to travel. Cindy was gone for about a month and couldn’t do it. She had to get back home to the grandkids. She would take them to the creek any time they wanted to go and fix 4 different things for them to eat if they all wanted something different. Her fried chicken and mashed potatoes were their favorites.

Surviving Cindy is husband Carl, son, Happy (Amber) Jones, Centerville, IA, daughter, Kelly (Brent) Dickerson, Centralia, MO. Grandchildren: Lenzi (Nate) Robinson, Kage Jones, Levi Dickerson and Logan Dickerson. One Great Grandson, Nicholas Robinson also survives as well as sisters Rosemary White and Vivian Shahan and brother Troy Veach. Many nieces and nephews that had tons of fun visiting Aunt Cindy and Uncle Carl on the farm also survive.
