COLORADO 9 – San Francisco 6… The Rockies overcame a 6-1 sixth-inning deficit to upend the Giants. Sam Hilliard homered with a runner aboard and singled home a run. Garrett Hampson smacked a solo homer.
N.Y. Mets 9 – BALTIMORE 4… Michael Conforto went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer and five RBIs in leading the Mets past the Orioles. Pete Alonso also went deep.
Toronto 2 – MIAMI 1… Blue Jays starter Hyun-Jin Ryu (3-1) held the Marlins to a run on five hits over six innings. Lourdes Gurriel provided all the offense Toronto needed with a two-run homer in the top of the fifth inning.
CINCINNATI 4 – St. Louis 3… Joey Votto singled home Shoto Akiyama with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Tucker Barnhart hit a two-run homer for Cincinnati.
Tampa Bay 5 – N.Y. YANKEES 2… Mike Brosseau and Randy Arozarena hit two-run homers in the top of the first inning and Brosseau added a solo blast in the fourth as the Rays cruised past the Yankees.
PHILADELPHIA 3 – Washington 0… Zack Wheeler (4-0) pitched three-hit ball over 6-2/3 innings and got help from two relievers in the shutout of the Nationals. Jay Bruce homered and Neil Walker stroked a two-run single for Philadelphia.
Atlanta 7 – BOSTON 5… The Braves rallied past the Red Sox to complete a three-game sweep. Adam Duvall hit three home runs a night after teammate Marcell Ozuna did it, making them the first teammates in major league history to perform the feat in consecutive games.
MILWAUKEE 8 – Detroit 5… The Brewers overcame an early four-run deficit to top the Tigers. Keston Hiura belted a three-run homer. Jace Peterson added a two-run blast.
Cleveland 5 – KANSAS CITY 0… Tyler McKenzie (2-0) limited the Royals to three hits over six innings and three relievers completed the blanking of the Royals. Tyler Naquin went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and drove in all five Cleveland runs.
HOUSTON 2 – Texas 1… Michael Brantley connected for a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning and the Astros held off the Rangers. Cristian Javier (4-1) gave up a run on two hits over 6-2/3 innings.
Chi. Cubs 8 – PITTSBURGH 2… Javier Baez blasted a three-run homer, Antony Rizzo drove in a pair of runs and the Cubs handled the Pirates. Kyle Hendricks (4-4) surrendered a run on six hits over six innings.
MINNESOTA 8 – Chi. White Sox 1… Jose Berrios (3-3) allowed just a run on three hits over six innings as the Twins breezed past the White Sox. Jake Cave homered and singled home a run. Miguel Sano also went deep.
San Diego 11 – L.A. ANGELS 4… The Padres erupted to score eight runs in the top of the eighth inning and put away the Angels. Eric Hosmer’s three-run homer capped the uprising. Jurickson Profar homered with a runner aboard and lifted a sacrifice fly.
L.A. DODGERS 3 – Arizona 2 (10 innings)… The Dodgers came up with two runs in the bottom of the 10th inning to outlast the Diamondbacks. Chris Taylor laid down an RBI sacrifice bunt and came around to score the winning run on Smith’s single. Mookie Betts homered in the ninth for L.A.
