ATLANTA 5 – N.Y. Yankees 1… Ian Anderson (1-0) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning in his major-league debut and the Braves cruised past the Yankees in the doubleheader opener. Ronald Acuna Jr., Dansby Swanson and Marcel Ozuna homered for Atlanta.

ATLANTA 2 – N.Y. Yankees 1… Freddie Freeman homered with a runner aboard in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Braves hung on to complete a sweep of the twinbill. Max Fried (5-0) gave up a run on four hits over six innings.

CHI. WHITE SOX 10 – Pittsburgh 3… Edwin Encarnacion, Eloy Jimenez, Danny Mendick and Jose Abreu all hit home runs in the White Sox’ romp over the Pirates. Abreu’s blast was his seventh in five games and 12th of the season.

Philadelphia 3 – WASHINGTON 2…. Bryce Harper singled home a tie-breaking run in the top of the seventh inning and the Phillies made it stand in edging the Nationals. Aaron Nola (3-2) allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings.

TORONTO 9 – Boston 1… Rowdy Tellez went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBIs in leading the Blue Jays past the Red Sox. Randal Grichuk also went deep.

TAMPA BAY 4 – Baltimore 3… Michael Perez smacked a go-ahead solo homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to push the Rays past the Orioles. Brandon Lowe cracked his 10th homer with a runner aboard.

CLEVELAND 6 – Minnesota 3… The Indians came up with three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to double up on the Twins. Jose Ramirez belted a three-run homer in the third.

DETROIT 7 – Chi. Cubs 6… The Tigers took control with a five-run bottom of the sixth inning and held on to top the Cubs. Austin Romine had three hits and knocked in two runs.

N.Y. METS 5 – Miami 4… Wilson Ramos singled home the decisive run in the bottom of the eighth inning after the Mets blew a three-run lead. Brandon Nimmo and Michael Conforto homered.

Oakland 3 – TEXAS 1… Mike Fiers (4-1) pitched three-hit ball over six scoreless innings and the Athletics eased past the Rangers. Steven Piscotty had a couple of hits and an RBI.

ST. LOUIS 6 – Kansas City 5… The Cardinals rallied to score four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning and upend the Royals. Kolten Wong drew a bases-loaded walk to force home the winning run. Tyler O’Neill tied the game with a two-run single.

Colorado 8 – ARIZONA 7… The Rockies took an 8-1 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning and escaped with a win over the Diamondbacks. Charlie Blackmon unloaded a grand slam. Sam Hilliard also circled the bases.

THREE GAMES POSTPONED… Last night’s scheduled, Milwaukee-Cincinnati, San Diego-Seattle and L.A. Dodgers-San Francisco games were postponed as players reacted to Sunday’s police shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake, a Black man, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
