Hannibal Football Coach Hamner Suspended

Jason Noland has been named the Pirates’ interim coach after the Hannibal superintendent’s office announced it was suspending Hannibal head coach Quentin Hamner from coaching and teaching as it reviews an off-campus incident. According to a press release issued Sunday night, the incident did not involve district students.

The players were informed of the decision Sunday afternoon, and the coaching staff reiterated the need to stick together.

Hamner is entering his second season at Hannibal. He led the Pirates to a 7-5 record and a Class 4 district title game appearance in his first season replacing Mark St. Clair at the helm.

The Pirates are scheduled to open the season Friday against Jefferson City Helias at Porter Stadium.
