Breeland Faces Four Game Ban

Kansas City Chiefs starting cornerback Bashaud Breeland is expected to be suspended for the first four games of the season for a violation of the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

In an Instagram post that he tweeted a link to, Breeland acknowledged the suspension, without elaborating on the offense, and apologized “to the entire Chiefs organization, my coaches, teammates, family and fans.”

Breeland, 28, joined the Chiefs last season as a free agent and started 15 games in 2019. He had an interception in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
