Kathleen Cain

Kathleen Cain, 76, of rural Unionville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at her home on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

Kathleen Louise (Clark) Cain was born in Putnam County, Missouri, in the Graysville area on December 29, 1943, the daughter of John and Elsie (Watts) Clark, who preceded her in death. Her family moved to California when Kathleen was six, but she moved back to Graysville at the age of 17. Kathy married Larry Cain, Sr., in Glendale, Missouri, on February 4, 1961, and he survives at home. Kathleen worked at McGraw-Edison, the Florsheim Shoe Factory, Schuyler County Nursing Home, and the Putnam County Care Center, retiring when she turned 64.

Kathy’s family was the center of her world. She loved to spend time with kids and grandkids and she loved caring for each and every one of them. Her husband Larry was her life and she was his queen. Kathy was famous for her deviled eggs at family gatherings. She also loved caring for her special pets, her dogs Daisy Mae (now deceased) and Festus and her cat, Dexter. Kathy was meticulous in her house keeping and yard work. She liked to raise flowers and a garden and care for her hummingbirds. Kathleen loved the simple life of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.

Kathleen is also survived by a son, Larry (Barbara) Cain, Jr. of Blakesburg, Iowa, and two daughters, Cindy Duncan of Unionville, Missouri, and Terri (Jim) Minear of Glenwood, Missouri. Her grandchildren are Ashley Driggers, Brandi Cain, Jacob Cain, Casey Jernnigan, Taylor Flynn, Amy Fye, Matt Cobler, Lisa Duncan, T. J. New, Jennifer Miller, Jimmy Lee Schrage, and Nathan Minear. Seventeen great-grandchildren also survive.

Others who preceded Kathy in death are a daughter, Kathleen Louise, who died at nine months of age, a brother, Johnny Clark, and a sister, Deborah Clark, who died in infancy.

Graveside services for Kathleen will be at the Rose Cemetery in Putnam County, Missouri, at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2020.
