Atlanta 5 – PHILADELPHIA 2… The Braves scored all five runs in the top of the fifth inning on their way past the Phillies in the opener of a doubleheader. Ronald Acuna Jr. struck the big blow with a two-run homer.

Atlanta 8 – PHILADELPHIA 0… Max Fried (3-0) pitched four-hit ball over five innings and two relievers completed the shutout as the Braves completed a sweep of the twinbill.

Baltimore 5 – WASHINGTON 2… The Orioles were leading the Braves when the game was suspended in the sixth inning due to a wet field. The game will resume on Friday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Nationals will remain the home team.

N.Y. METS 4 – Miami 2… Rookie Andres Gimenez went 3-for-4 and scored three runs as the Mets clipped the Marlins.

TAMPA BAY 4 – N.Y. Yankees 3… Michael Perez singled home Brandon Lowe with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Rays a come-from-behind win over the Yankees. Lowe and Mike Brosseau homered during a three-run seventh.

BOSTON 5 – Toronto 3… Mitch Moreland hit a pair of homers, including a two-run walkoff shot in the bottom of the ninth inning, to power the Red Sox past the Blue Jays. Rafael Devers also went deep for Boston.

Detroit 2 – PITTSBURGH 1… Spencer Turnbull (2-0) limited the Pirates to a run on five hits over seven innings and the Tigers finished off a series sweep. Miguel Cabrera singled home a tie-breaking run in the top of the eighth inning.

KANSAS CITY 4 – Minnesota 2… Hunter Dozier stroked a two-run single, Maikel Franco homered and the Royals topped the Twins. Brady Singer (1-1) allowed two runs on five hits over five innings.

MILWAUKEE 9 – Cincinnati 3… The Brewers came alive to score six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and put away the Reds. Christian Yelich homered and tripled home a run. Keston Hiura also went deep.

TEXAS 7 – L.A. Angels 3… Lance Lynn (2-0) limited the Angels to two runs on four hits over five innings and earned his 100th career victory. Shin-Soo Choo lined a two-run single.

SEATTLE 5 – Colorado 3… Mariners starter Justus Sheffield (1-2) held the Rockies to four hits over six innings and picked up his first major-league win. Dylan Moore got things going with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning.

SAN DIEGO 9 – Arizona 5… The Padres belted six home runs in their pounding of the Diamondbacks. Manny Machado went deep twice. Fernando Tatis Jr. homered with a runner aboard. Wil Meyers, Francisco Mejia and Ty France also circled the bases.

OAKLAND 7 – Houston 2… The Athletics cruised past the Astros to win their ninth straight. The game featured a benches-clearing skirmish in the seventh inning. Matt Olson blasted a three-run homer. Robbie Grossman and Matt Chapman added solo shots.

L.A. DODGERS 6 – San Francisco 2… AJ Pollock gave the Dodgers the lead with a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning and Mookie Betts added a three-run blast in the eighth.

Cleveland 5 – CHI. WHITE SOX 4 (10 innings)… Delino DeShields laid down a squeeze bun to score Jose Ramirez with a tie-breaking run in the top of the 10th inning and the Indians made it stand in their win over the White Sox.
