Philadelphia 11 – N.Y. YANKEES 7… The Phillies slugged their way past the Yankees in the doubleheader opener. Bryce Harper and J.T. Realmuto homered.
N.Y. YANKEES 3 – Philadelphia 1… Mike Tauchman doubled home a tie-breaking run, Gio Urshela added an RBI single and the Yankees claimed a split of the twinbill. The loss snapped Philadelphia’s seven-game winning streak.
Miami 1 – BALTIMORE 0… Brian Anderson homered in the top of the fourth inning and the Marlins made it stand in clipping the Orioles in a doubleheader opener. Four pitchers combined on a three-hitter.
Miami 2 – BALTIMORE 1… The Marlins scored twice in the top of the first inning and held on to earn a split of the twinbill. Five pitchers limited Baltimore to four hits.
N.Y. Mets 3 – WASHINGTON 1… Rick Porcello (1-1) held the Nationals to a run on five hits over seven innings to record his 150th career win. Dominic Smith lifted a sacrifice fly and doubled home a run.
Boston 5 – TAMPA BAY 0… The Red Sox blanked the Braves to snap their four-game skid. Martin Perez (2-1) pitched four-hit ball over five innings. Four relievers provided hitless relief. Michael Chavis and Alex Verdugo homered for Boston.
Minnesota 5 – PITTSBURGH 2… Randy Dobnak (2-1) held the Pirates to three hits over six shutout innings, Max Kepler blasted a three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning and the Twins topped the Pirates.
CLEVELAND 2 – Cincinnati 0… Mike Clevinger (1-1) pitched two-hit ball over 5-2/3 innings and got help from four relievers in the Indians’ blanking of the Reds.
Toronto 2 – ATLANTA 1… Hyun-Jin Ryu (1-1) and four relievers combined on a three-hitter as the Blue Jays edged the Braves.
Chi. Cubs 6 – KANSAS CITY 1… The Cubs made it six straight wins with the defeat of the Royals. Yu Darvish (2-1) allowed a run on five hits over seven innings. Javier Baez produced a pair of RBI singles.
Milwaukee 1 – CHI. WHITE SOX 0… Adrian Houser (1-0) limited the White Sox to five hits over seven innings in outdueling counterpart Dallas Keuchel and the Brewers escaped with the victory. Eric Sogard singled home Mark Mathias with the game’s only run in the top of the third inning.
San Francisco 4 – COLORADO 3… Brandon Belt connected for a three-run homer in the top of the fourth inning and Wilmer Flores singled home a run in the sixth as the Giants got past the Rockies.
OAKLAND 6 – Texas 4… The Athletics pounded out four home runs in downing the Rangers. Austin Allen drilled a go-ahead two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh inning. Matt Olson homered twice and drove in three runs. Ramon Laureano also went deep.
L.A. Dodgers 7 – SAN DIEGO 6… Joc Pederson homered twice and drove in five runs to lead the Dodgers past the Padres.
ARIZONA 14 – Houston 7… The Diamondbacks erupted to score nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to erase a 4-0 deficit and cruised to the win. David Peralta went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs. Kole Calhoun legged out an inside-the-park homer. Eduardo Escobar and Nick Ahmed also went deep.
SEATTLE 7 – L.A. Angels 6… Kyle Seager hit a three-run homer and Austin Nola doubled home two runs as the Mariners held off the Angels.
