Carolina 4 – N.Y. Rangers 1… Andrei Svechnikov recorded the first postseason hat trick in franchise history as the Hurricanes skated past the Rangers to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
Winnipeg 3 – Calgary 2… Nikolaj Ehlers netted a third-period goal and the Jets made in stand in edging the Flames to tie the series after two games.
Tampa Bay 3 – Washington 2 (SO)… Nikita Kucherov netted the game-winner in the shootout in Eastern Conference round-robin play.
Vegas 5 – Dallas 3… Will Carter found the net to break a tie with 5:12 left and the Golden Knights prevailed in Western Conference round robin play.
Pittsburgh 3 – Montreal 1… The Penguins got goals from Sidney Crosby, Jason Zucker and Jake Guentzel in downing the Canadiens to tie the series at 1-1. Goalie Matt Murray made 27 saves and came within 2:09 of a shutout.
Edmonton 6 – Chicago 3… Connor McDavid scored three goals in his first playoff hat trick and the Oilers doubled up on the Blackhawks to even the series at a game apiece.
