Keith Stephenson

Robert Keith Stephenson, 79 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.

Keith was born August 24, 1940 in Reger, Missouri to Robert Rex and Ila Lee (McClaren) Stephenson. In Reger, on October 8, 1961 he married his best friend and love of his life, Barbara Rose (Ford) Stephenson, she survives him of the home. Also surviving are: Three children, Dennis Keith Stephenson (Suzan) of Brookfield, Missouri, Randall Dean Stephenson (Lynn) of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Shandra Stephenson (James Snyder) of Green Castle, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Megan Ann Stephenson (Jericho Smith), Marissa Noelle Lockwood (Ryan), Morgan Tyler Stephenson, Robert Grant Stephenson (Emily), and Amanda Mae Stephenson; 4 great grandchildren, Addison Ann Sylvester, Brayden Edward Lockwood, Alexis Rose Lockwood, and Ruth Ilamarie Stephenson; two brothers, David Stephenson (Nedra) of Milan and Charles Stephenson of Milan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter-in-law, Robin Stephenson, and a niece, Jill Husz.

Keith was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, graduating from Milan High School in 1958. Keith worked as a parts manager at the Chevrolet garage from 1961 – 1975, then worked at Con Agra in parts maintenance until retiring. During that time, he also raised turkeys and cattle, and helped his dad and brother on the farm. Keith was a collector of many things, he also was an avid sports fan, sometimes listening to several sporting events at one time on the radio. Keith attended the Reger Church of God growing up and was baptized by Pastor Mike White.

Funeral services for Keith will be held 9:30 AM, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at the Schrock Cemetery, South of Milan. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Morgan Stephenson, Grant Stephenson, Brayden Lockwood, Ryan Lockwood, James Snyder, Nelson Ford, and Richard Head. Honorary Pallbearers are Josh Stephenson, Junior Stephenson, Brian Head, Brad Ford, Barry Ford, Brett Ford, Tommy Stephenson, Rick Richardson, Vernon Search and Larry Wattenbarger.
