Gladys Frances Pipes

Gladys Frances (Wyant) Pipes, 91, beloved Matriarch of the Donald Wilson Pipes family, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2020 in Milan, MO.

Frances was born September 21, 1928 in Pollock, MO to Albert Francis and Lola Mae (Yardley) Wyant. Frances was the youngest of 13 children and a lifelong resident of Sullivan County. In 1947 she married Donald Wilson Pipes and together they raised five children: Dianna, Marvin, Donald, David, and Steve. She worked at Banquet Foods for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, receiving many compliments over the years for her beautiful yard. She also enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with her large family.

Frances is survived by her 4 sons: Marvin Pipes and wife Anita (Mason) of Milan, MO; Donald W. Pipes and wife Beverly (Knox) of Perry, MI; David Pipes and wife Patti (Cleeton) of Milan, MO; and Steve Pipes and wife Penny (Cofer) of Milan, MO; 5 grandchildren: Genia Nickell-Boyle, Rob Nickell (Marilyn), Jody Gittings (Brian), Jessica Pipes (Hunter Ford), and Michael Pipes; 9 great grandchildren: Ryan Cook, Ashley Cook, Eric Boyle, Taylor Nickell, Ethan Nickell, Paige Cannon, Tyler DeWitt, Ryley Head, and Dylan Pipes; 3 great great grandchildren: Myles Morehead, Sky Frazier, and Sage Frazier; sister, Berniece Hines (96) of Milan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Donald Wilson Pipes; daughter, Dianna Cox; son-in-law, Bill Cox; grandson, Rusty Pipes; 5 brothers: Theodore Wyant, Arthur Wyant, Lee Wyant, Nova Wyant, and Leland Wyant; 6 sisters: Flossie Ross, Alpha Hill, Merle Salisbury, Geraldine Roberts, Wilma “Irene” Reger, and Gertie Wyant.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home, 120 W. 4th Milan, MO (660-265-4646). A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Frances on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 1:30 pm, at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home with interment to follow at White Oak Cemetery, on HWY MO-5, south of Milan. Dinner and continued fellowship to immediately follow at the Elks Lodge, 217 E Second St, Milan, MO.
