Lawrence J. Vasey, 84 years old, of Green City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at home.
Lawrence was born March 4, 1935 in Norwalk, Iowa to George and Alova (Pyle) Vasey. On July 1, 1961 in Crescent, Iowa he married Dixie Ann (Lord) Vasey, she survives him of the home. Also surviving: 8 children, Terry Vasey and wife Pauline of Green City, Marla Vasey of Galt, Missouri, Marcia Baker of Green City, Michael Vasey and wife Jodi of Exeter, Missouri, Mary Tucker of Green City, Mark Vasey and wife Kimerly of Green City, Melissa Rodman and husband Terry of Novinger, Missouri, and Billy Vasey and wife Darcy of Wilmington, North Carolina; 22 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: His parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
Lawrence grew up in St. Mary’s, Iowa. He lived in various places including Corydon, Leon, and Chariton, Iowa. They moved to Harris in 1969, then to Green City in 1988. He farmed and worked in construction at Echotec Construction as a curb builder in highway construction. Lawrence didn’t have any hobbies, he just enjoyed working.
A graveside service for Lawrence will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Green City Cemetery, North of Green City. A visitation will be held Thursday from 12:30 PM until the service time at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City.
