Freda Pauline Witt, 69, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020, at her home west of Edina, Missouri.
Freda was born on June 18, 1950, in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Ester Pearson Witt.
She began her education in Michigan before graduating from the Fairfield High School, as Valedictorian, in the Class of 1968. She continued her education in Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio and earned her Bachelor of Education. She taught in Florida before moving to Kirksville, Missouri and earned a Masters of Education at Northeast Missouri State University and LPN Degree.
She worked for the Adair County Nursing Home in Kirksville, Missouri before returning to teaching in Central Missouri and Omaha, Nebraska but returned to Kirksville to work as an LPN at Twin Pines Nursing Home. Freda returned to Northeast Missouri State University and received her BSN (RN) Degree.
Freda worked for the Division of Aging and Senior Services with the Missouri Department of Health for more than twenty-eight years before retiring in 2012.
Freda is survived by her best friend, Cathy Lay of Edina, Missouri; two brothers, Charles Witt of Lansing, Michigan and Cullen and Annette Witt of Topeka, Kansas; a niece, Rachel Voight; a nephew, Joshua Witt; along with a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ester Witt; a sister, Gloria Witt; and a nephew, Paul David Witt.
A Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22. 2020, at the Rock Creek Cemetery, west of Edina, Missouri.
An expression of sympathy in memory of Freda Witt may be left to the Rock Creek Cemetery. A memorial may be left at or mailed to the Doss Funeral Home 208 N. 4th Street, Edina, Missouri 63537.
