Mary Marie (Pollock) Robinson

Mary Marie (Pollock) Robinson – 99, the daughter of David Forrest Pollock and Minnie (Smith) Pollock was born August 4, 1920 and raised at St. John, Mo. The Angels ushered her into the Arms of Jesus Feb. 8, 2020, at Putnam County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for the last 2 ½ weeks.

Marie was very proud of her Scottish Heritage. Thomas Pollock (Marie’s Great Great Grandfather) was among the earliest settlers in Western Putnam County, moving in July 1851 to St. John – east of Powersville, Mo. Her Great Grandfather DW Pollock was a Captain in the Civil War, enlisting in 1861 at 19 years old.

Marie attended grade school in St. John, Missouri. To receive a high school education she moved to Unionville where her parents paid room and board for the first 2 years. The remaining 2 years of high school, she stayed with her Uncle Don & Ruth Pollock. Marie graduated from Unionville High School in 1938.

While attending Unionville High School, she met Lee Robinson. They eloped November 16, 1940.

Marie loved farming, working side by side with Lee and David, they operated a dairy farm SE of Unionville, Mo. She and Lee also worked part time for Lee’s Dad at Robinson and Flanagan Shoe Store in Unionville.

A son, David Lee Robinson, born January 31, 1950 was the light of their lives.

Marie’s family rejoiced when she was baptized into Christ in 1999. She faithfully attended First Christian Church with her family until her health declined.

Marie was in the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed genealogy and attending the Historical Society meetings.

She loved visiting and sharing old time memories. Her memory was sharp as a tack until the end.

Marie was survived by their Son, David (Linda) Robinson of Lucerne, MO. She was a doting Grandmother to Jeff (Dee) Robinson of Lucerne, MO and Brian (Bridget) Robinson of Cameron, MO. Great Grandchildren are Wyatt and Cole Robinson of Lucerne. Abigail, Thomas and Isabel Robinson of Cameron. Nieces Connie (Pollock) Mullenix, Becky Pollock and Carol (Craig) Hart.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee of 46 years, a brother Forrest Neal and sister-in-law Alice Jean Pollock, brother-in-law John Robinson, sister-in-law Ann (Robinson) Craig and a nephew Dennis Pollock.

Memorials suggested to St. John Cemetery Association and may be entrusted with the funeral home.
