Melvin Russell “Bud” Lancaster

Melvin Russell “Bud” Lancaster, 91, of Glenwood, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Bud Lancaster was born on July 6, 1934 in the telephone office home in Bible Grove, Missouri where his Grandmother Lancaster ran the telephone switchboard from her home. Bud’s parents were Marcie Melvin Lancaster and Rosalee (Martin). On June 15, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Ava Darlene Ferguson and to this union three children were born, Debbie, Russell and Rhoda. Bud was married to the love of his life for 71 years and missed her everyday she has been gone.
Bud is survived by one daughter, Debbie McGoldrick of Glenwood, Missouri; one son, Russell Lancaster (Theresa) of Glenwood, Missouri; grandchildren, Mike McGoldrick (Marti) of Glenwood, Missouri, Jeff McGoldrick of Lancaster, Missouri, Kevin Buckallew (Kara) of Lancaster, Missouri, Casey Lancaster (Paula) of Glenwood, Missouri, Kelly Buckallew (Molly) of Lancaster, Missouri and Corin Mehringer (Stephen) of Kirksville, Missouri; 20 great grandchildren, Ashley Whitney (Zach), Caleb McGoldrick (Riley), Tyler McGoldrick (Tiffany), Levi and Eliana Mehringer, Kaitlyn, Kenna and Karson Lancaster, Ally Barbour (Trenton), Sydney, Mariah and Kelsey Buckallew, Trayton Buckallew, Jessica Morrow and Jace Morrow (Julie); 8 great great grandchildren, Callum Whitney, Madelynn McGoldrick, Natalie McGoldrick, Everlea Morrow, Maysen Moss, Hannah McGoldrick, Salem Whitney and Korbin McGoldrick; one sister, Connie Gray of Columbia, Missouri and many nieces and nephews and many good friends.
Bud is preceded by his parents, Marcie and Rosalee Lancaster; wife, Ava Darlene Lancaster; one daughter, Rhoda Buckallew; one brother, Butch Lancaster and wife, Cora; one sister, Marilyn MaGee; son-in-law, Eldon McGoldrick; brother-in-law, John Gray; mother-in-law, LaVern Gingerich and her husband, Ursel.
Bud was a member of the Glenwood Lodge #427 A.F. & A.M. for 58 years, a member of the York Rite Masons and Moila Shrine for several years, Board of Directors of Schuyler County Nursing Home for 25 years, board member of Missouri State MFA, Schuyler County MFA and Schuyler County MFA Oil and a volunteer for the Lancaster Rural Fire Department.
Bud and Darlene enjoyed watching the grandchildren play baseball or anything they were involved in. Bud’s favorite food was anything chocolate.

Masonic services will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri provided by the Glenwood Lodge #427 A.F. & A.M. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for Glenwood Cemetery.
