Charlene Zimmerman 77, of Brookfield, Mo. passed away at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
Charlene was born in Winigan, Mo to Leonard and Wilda (Garrett) Hampton on Oct,17,1948. She was preceded in death by her parents and One brother Bill Bowen, and one sister Donna Sterbenz. She is survived by her significant other Phillip Lynn of the home and three children; Steph Hampton of St. Louis, Stan and Reta Potter of Novinger, Mo. Kenny Potter of Kirksville, Mo, two adopted sons; Frank Eddy and Randall Chester from Brookfield, Mo, grandchildren; Jarod and Angie Chapman, Aaron and Tonya Chapman, Brent and Sherri potter, Trisha and Jeremiah Hatcher, Kelsey and Eric Lutz, and Dylan and Lexi Potter, great grandchildren; Rylie and Teren Gray, Quincy, Corey, Rayden, and Zane Chapman, Raylee, Bryson, and Ryker Potter and Tommi Eddy, and one great-great grandchild; Tate Gray.
Charlene grew up on a farm in the Winigan area. She graduated from Green City R-1 class of 1966. She began her career by working at various places and retired from ConAgra Foods Milan, Mo. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She most of all loved spending time with her family and her dog’s cuddles and boots. Charlene will always be remembered as a caring loving person.
A funeral service for Charlene will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 PM, Cremation will follow with an inurnment to take place at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
