Harry Behrmann

Harry Bernard Behrmann, 81, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at his home in Edina, Missouri.

Harry was born May 26, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Harry Bernard and Henrietta Marie Knight Behrmann.

He attended school in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from the Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois, in the Class of 1959.

He worked for the Northern Illinois Gas Company and moved to Edina, Missouri, in 1967, when they merged with the local natural gas supplier. Harry was involved in the early days of natural gas and assisted getting many of the small towns between Canton and Edina, Missouri hooked up and continued to service them until his retirement.

Harry was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he worked many events over the years.

Harry is survived by a son, Jeff Behrmann and his boys, Kyle and Joseph all of Kirksville, Missouri; a brother, Art and his wife Barbara Behrmann of Reston, Virginia; two sisters, Susan Ugan of St. Petersburg, Florida and Trudy Thomas of DeKalb, Illinois; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Henrietta Behrmann; and a brother-in-law, Chester Ugan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri with the family receiving friends one hour prior to Mass at the church.

Interment will be later at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
