Lisa Welch

Elisa Rose (Crnic) Welch, 64, passed away, March 3, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital. She was born January 2, 1959, in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Edwin and Mary Ivan (March) Crnic.

Elisa graduated from Kirksville High School, Class of 1977. Following graduation, she met her husband, John E. Welch where they both worked at Sirloin Stockade Steak house. The two married on December 30, 1978. They raised one son, John C. Welch. She lived in Kirksville, MO then moved to Olathe, KS with her family remaining there until their son graduated from high school and then moved back to LaPlata, MO.

Elisa was a proud member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.
She was also a member of Piece Makers quilting group of Mary Immaculate donating 100’s of hours of her time to create and donate quilts. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling, spending time with her friends and many small dogs over the years.

Elisa was survived by: Son, John C. Welch & 3 grandchildren of Hutchinson, KS Brother, William Crnic and wife, Mary Kay of Kirksville, MO Sister, Eleanor K. (Crnic) Hord and husband, Roger of Overland Park, KS Brother, Ed Crnic and wife, Nicky of Omaha, NE
Brother, John Crnic and wife, Lynn of Kirksville, MO Brother, Jim Crnic and wife, Liz of Kirksville, MO

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Edwin and Mary Ivan (March) Crnic, Husband, John E. Welch and Sister, Carol (Crnic) Warren

A service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11 at Mary Immaculate Church, 716 E Washington, Kirksville, MO. Msgr. Marion Makarewicz, V.F. will officiate the ceremony. A visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Mary Immaculate Cemetery in Kirksville at a later date.
