Matthew John Burton, 29, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at S.E. Iowa Regional Madison Campus in Ft. Madison, Iowa.
Born December 29, 1992 in Morehead City, North Carolina, Matthew was the son of Matthew Lee and Tricia Renee (Brownell) Burton.
Matthew is survived by his father, Matthew Lee Burton of Newport, North Carolina; his mother, Tricia Pemaluna of Keokuk, IA; his maternal grandparents, John and Lola Brownell of Queen City, MO; two brothers, Mason Burton of Keokuk, IA, and Morgan Burton of Beaufort, North Carolina; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ronald and Judy Burton.
Matthew was a graduate of Schuyler County R-I High School with the Class of 2013. He loved Super Man and Star Wars. Matthew will be remembered for his outstanding personality, for being pure at heart, and for making life better for all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Sam Burkholder officiating. Family will receive friend on Thursday, January 5, 2023 for one hour before the service. Interment will follow the service at Novinger Cemetery in Novinger, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Lee Burton, Mason Burton, Morgan Burton, Matt Brownell, Marcus Brownell, and Todd May.
