Lois Muriele (Ratliff) Hill

Lois Muriele (Ratliff) Hill, 100, of Queen City, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.

Born October 11, 1922 in Unionville, Missouri, Lois was the daughter of Steven Charles and Nellie Francis (Baquet) Ratliff. On December 23, 1941 in Putnam County, Lois was united in marriage to George “Raymond” Hill who preceded her in death on May 4, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one son, Dwight Raymond Hill in 1998; two brothers, Charles and Neal Ratliff; three sisters, Leone Hawkins Hamilton, Erma Steele, and Naomi Gross; four brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

Lois is survived by three daughters, Rose Ilene (Larry) Aldridge of Queen City, MO, Rama “Colleen” Klingaman of Nevada, MO, and Anita Carole (Jody Bryson) Jackson of Richards, MO; six grandchildren Michael (Becky) Snyder, Todd (Paula) Klingaman, Deneta (RD) Homer, Eric (Lona) Jackson, Salina (Jordan) O’Haver, and Travis (Stephanie) King; six great-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; five step great-great grandchildren and one on the way; sisters-in-law, Lois Cook, Sarah Levardsen, Letha Hill, Joyce Hill, and Gertrude Hill; one brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” (Joyce) Hill; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lois received her education in the Putnam County rural schools. In 1955, Lois opened her beauty salon (Mona Lisa) operating it for a number of years. She enjoyed gardening, music, playing in bands in the Kirksville area, sewing, quilting, and water skiing (once skied from Gravois Mills to the Bagnell Dam in the Ozarks). She was a devoted member of Hazel Creek Primitive Baptist Church and attended church services at all the different sister churches where she had many church families and friends.

Public visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to service time at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Elder Dillon Thurman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
