Peggy Gray

Peggy Sue (Weekley) Gray, 64, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, December 9, 2022 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of the late Harvey and Dorothy (Reed) Weekley, she was born January 7, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa. She married Charles Eugene Craig Jr. who preceded her in death on October 21, 2022. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Will Weekley.

Peggy is survived by one son, Brian Eugene Craig Jr. of Fulton, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and David Mountain of Kirksville, MO; three grandchildren, Cheyenne Marie Craig, Brian Eugene (Selena) Craig Jr., and Alexa (Brandon) Murray; seven great-grandchildren, Amara Craig, Emily, Ennis, Wyatt, Aunna, Baxley and Eamon Murray; three brothers, Harvey Weekley, Jimmy Weekley, and Paul Weekley all of Kirksville, MO; four sisters, Pam (Bob) McDonald of Novinger, MO, Janet (Jim) Stevens of Keokuk, IA, Maggie Snyder of Kirksville, MO, and Nancy (David) Matchick of St. Peters, MO; and one aunt, Mary Klingsmith of Waterloo, IA.

Peggy resided most of her life in Kirksville, Missouri, and attended Brashear and Kirksville schools. She was employed a number of years for Sun Brite Laundry. She was a great wonderful lady for her son and daughter, and had a great love for her family. Peggy enjoyed teaching her children to cook and clean for themselves. She loved being around and doing for others to see their faces light up.

Peggy enjoyed Bible study, praying for others, watching movies, raising plants, collecting angels, bears and eagles, and reading her Bible. People were always welcome at Peggy’s home to have a good time, especially her longtime friend Leta Albright who would pop in for a visit. She also loved being around her two best friends, Judy Lloyd and Donna Craig. Her friend Teresa Wood made visits to see Peggy during the last few months of her life.

Peggy was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Shawn Meintz officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday for one hour before service time. Interment will follow the service at Forest Llewellyn Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be David Mountain, Robin Seavey, Paul McDonald, Paul Weekley, Jackie Potter, and Harvey Weekley.
