Bobby “Bob” Gene Zimmerman, 91 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (December 6th, 2022) at Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, MO.
The son of Ora and Ethel (Righter) Zimmerman was born June 27th, 1931 in Kirksville, MO.
Bob is survived by one Brother, Garry Zimmerman; three nephews, Randy Zimmerman, Dale Zimmerman and wife Susan and Russell Zimmerman and wife Linda; one great nephew, Thomas Zimmerman; one great niece, Kelli Zimmerman; and best friend, Ron Lewellen. He was proceeded in death by his parents; one brother, Ora Zimmerman; one sister, Mattie Horton; and one nephew, Jeff Zimmerman.
Bob grew up in Kirksville where he graduated with the class of 1949. Bob worked construction all his life, working for Snyder Brothers Construction, Reed Construction and Irvin Built Construction until he retired. He also raised cattle. Bob enjoyed hunting in his younger age, especially bird hunting. He also enjoyed cruising around, going dancing and meeting his brother in Ottumwa. Bob was a member of the El Kadir Shrine and Masonic lodge in Kirksville.
Funeral Service will be Friday, December 9th, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Virgil Jones officiating. The visitation will be an hour before from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service. Burial will be at Park View Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner’s Children Hospital, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
