Reds Shut Out Cardinals In Series Finale

The Cincinnati Reds shut down Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0 on Sunday.

The 42-year-old Pujols, who entered the game with 698 home runs, went 0 for 4.

St. Louis, which managed just two hits, had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Luis Cessa tossed five shutout innings to get the win, Buck Farmer recorded the save.

Jordan Montogmery took the loss, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out nine in five and a third innings.

The Yankees beat Milwaukee 12-8 keeping the Cardinal’s lead at 8 games.

RHP Adam Wainwright (11-9, 3.29) will open a three-game series at San Diego on Tuesday,7:45 with the pregame and the first pitch at 8:40 on KIRX.
