Danny Joe Maggart, 67, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at the University Missouri Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri.
Born October 21, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri, Danny was the son of the late Jacob Edward and Reva Aldine (Snyder) Maggart. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jake, Tim, Cliff, and Pedro Maggart. On February 26, 1974 in Kirksville, Missouri, Danny was united in marriage to Melinda Lorey.
Danny is survived by his wife, Melinda Maggart of forty-eight years; one son, Danny Joe Maggart Jr. of Columbia, MO; two daughters and sons-in-law, Danna and Kobey Puls of Cameron, MO, and Jamie and Tyson Rae of San Clemente, CA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Link and Linda Maggart and Toni and Eileen Maggart all of Kirksville, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lena and Darrel Engle of Kirksville, MO, and Joni and Kirk Bryant of Edina, MO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, JB and Theresa Lorey of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Lennon, Henley, Daltrey, Aiden, and Brody, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Danny was a life-long resident of Kirksville, Missouri, and a graduate of Kirksville High School with the Class of 1973. He loved and worked in construction (M&M Construction) for many years. Danny enjoyed fishing, was a wonderful cook, and loved following St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.
Danny was a member of Kirksville Moose Lodge #1751 and attended special family events at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.
Public visitation will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from noon to 2:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Virgil Jones officiating. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Rick Bleything, Rick Buck, Charlie Kelly, Danny Rhoades, Toni Maggart, and Link Maggart. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Maggart, Kobey Puls, Tyson Rae, Kirk Bryant, Darrel Engle, Eric Green. Jerry Selby, and JB Lorey.
