Mary Ellouise Gray

Mary Ellouise Gray, 87, of Browning, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Missouri.

Mary was born on July 11, 1934, in Browning, Mo, to Lindley “Jack” and Sylvia (Hunsaker) Hollon.
On July 26, 1951, Mary married Robert DeVane Gray on their farm in Browning, Mo. and one daughter was born to this union.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Shirley (Tommy) Damewood of Milan, Missouri, one granddaughter Crystal (Jim) Dowell of Atlanta, Missouri, sister Ila Maggart of Brookfield, Mo, four sisters in laws; Linda Hollon of Trenton, Mo, Jeanette Hollon of Purdin, Mo, Sylvia Gray of Elkins. West Virginia, and Evelyn Gray of Blue Springs, Mo, and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, two brothers; J.W. Hollon, and Lyle Hollon, and two sisters; Geraldine Waltz and Violet Coram.

Mary grew up and lived in Browning most of her life. Along with being a farm wife, she was well known as a housekeeper for many years. She was a member of the Browning Baptist Church and past member of the Browning American Legion Auxiliary. She loved being around people and was very Happy-go-lucky. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and canning vegetables.

Graveside services for Mary will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Knifong Cemetery, east of Browning, Mo. Friends may come by Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan after 2:00 PM Tuesday, until noon on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Browning Baptist Church or Knifong Cemetery.
