William Herbert “Bill” Hitchcock

William Herbert “Bill” Hitchcock, 62, of LaBelle, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2021, at his home in LaBelle, Missouri.

Bill was born on June 14, 1959, in Port Smith, New Hampshire, the son of William Herbert and Betty Lucille Prather Hitchcock.

On August 6, 1999, Bill married Paula Fogle Sharp, and she preceded him in death on December 6, 2016.

He attended Highland High School in Lewis County, Missouri. Worked for many years at Titan Wheel in Quincy, Illinois, until his health failed.

Bill was a member of the Knox City Baptist Church in Knox City, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, lifting weights, mushroom hunting, visiting with friends and family, and he was an animal lover.

Bill is survived by his mother, Betty Drage of Edina, Missouri; four brothers and sisters, Dorothy DeBrackeleir and Larry of Armstrong, Missouri, Eric Harvey of LaBelle, Missouri, Linda and Scott Walton of Quincy, Illinois, and Melvin and Amanda Harvey of Versailles, Illinois; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; and step-father, Ray Drage.

A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
