Mildred U. Bragg, age 100 of Novelty, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Born April 18, 1921 in Knox County, Missouri, the daughter of Vern and Ula (Bowen) Henry. On December 24, 1941 in Macon, Missouri she was united in marriage to Kester Bragg who preceded her in death on September 28, 1995.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Gen Bilbro; and one niece, Judy Dehner.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Lumley of Columbia, Missouri; two granddaughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Hemme and Stacie (Bill) Barker; four great grandchildren, Orie (Aly) Hemme, Noah Hemme, Allie Hemme, and Sam (Zara) Barker; one great great grandson, Kade Hemme; and one nephew Jim Bilbro.
Mildred was a 1939 graduate of La Plata High School and attended Kirksville State Teachers college. She lived most all of her life on the family farm in the Sue City community. She taught one year at the Nickellton School; was a charter member of the Progressive Farmerettes; active member of the Sue City Community Club; and attended the Novelty Christian Church.
Mildred enjoyed her garden, yard, chickens, cats, and quilting. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, and most of all loved her family.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m.
