Larry Don Scott

Larry Don Scott, 63 years old passed away June 11, 2021, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was a former resident of Browning and at present was living in Brookfield. He was the son of Donald and Barbara Scott. He was born November 19, 1957, at Drs Osteopathic Hospital in Brookfield. He attended school 3 years at The Brunswick Public School and 9 years at Linn County R-I School in Browning. He graduated in 1976.

In the year of 1977 Larry Don and Sally Chapman were blessed with a baby boy. Larry was a very proud father to his only son. His name is Adam Chapman.

At the age of 25 years, Larry and Connie Young where married, Connie brought along with her a beautiful baby girl. Larry adopted this little girl and the family was very thrilled to have her. Her name is Charity, a name of love. Larry was a very proud father of his children.

Surviving Larry are his son Adam Chapman of Novinger and a daughter, Charity Scott of Browning.

Surviving grandchildren are Johnathan Blake Chapman (Lexie) and baby girl Colce, St. Joseph, Rachel Chapman, Novinger, Alex Montoya, Arkansas, and Carlos Assencio, Browning, former wife Connie Nickell, his mother, Barbara Scott, Browning, a brother, Gary Scott, Browning, surviving good friend, Ruth Hauser, Maryville, Good friend, Pattie Zimmerman Wise, Brookfield. He was preceded by his father, Donald L. Scott in 1992, a brother Michael Douglas Scott in 2019, Grandfather Harry L. Searcy in 1967, Grandmother Georgia Bowden in 2010, Grandfather Harry L. Scott in 1963, Grandmother Louise Scott in 1994.

At the age of 25 Larry joined along with his family The Assembly of God Church in Milan. Pastor Daryl McCracken pastored the church then and he had a great influence on Larry. Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and has been very dedicated to him. He later became a member of the Assembly of God Church in Maryville for several years, returning home to Church in Milan. He was very proud to tell you that he knew he was going to be with the Lord.

Larry worked for Con Agra for 9 years. He then started long haul truck driving. He moved to Maryville and was in the tree trimming business. He later did concrete construction. They sanded concrete floors in large department stores in several stores in Iowa and Missouri. He also worked for Dewey Mason Construction. He was retired at the time of his passing.

Larry loved to hunt deer and go fishing. Larry and friend Ruth dressed in Western attire and rode fancy horses in parades. They loved to go camping. Larry loved to play his guitar and sing. He loved to sing religious songs.

A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held, 1:00 PM, Saturday July 10, 2021 at the Cornerstone Church in Milan. Larry’s cremated remains will be placed in the Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Laclede beside his brother, Michael Douglas Scott in the family site along with his father Donald Scott. Forever Loved by his family.
