Jon Cullum, 56, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He had experienced health issues for several months.
Jon Cullum was born on October 1, 1964, the son of William and Mary Jo (Pickett) Cullum. He was raised in Unionville and graduated from Putnam County High School in 1983 and worked as a custodian at businesses in town, including the Post Office. He also worked as a cook at the Green Circle and the Cattleman’s Café in Unionville, and the Pale Moon in Centerville, Iowa. Jon was quiet and reserved, but always polite when spoken to. Jon enjoyed visiting with his aunt Phyllis before he passed. He had recently found comfort and joy in attending weekly service at First Christian Church in Unionville.
Jon is survived by his sister, Julie Cullum, of Columbia, Missouri; his nephew Cody (Amy, Michalyn, & Karson) Cullum; two nieces, Heather (Mike & Hannah) Flahive, and Kelsey (Kaison) Boone. Two aunts, Joyce Cullum and Sue Ross, and two uncles, Bill Pickett & Marvin Pickett, also survive along with several cousins.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Billy Mike Cullum, and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service for Jon will be at the First Christian Church in Unionville at 10:30 am, Saturday, July 10, 2021. A memorial fund has been established to assist with funeral expenses. Donations should be made to Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th, Unionville, MO, 63565.
