NATIONAL LEAGUE
Atlanta 9 – PHILADELPHIA 5… The Braves used a five-run bottom of the eighth inning to upend the Phillies. Ronald Acuña Jr. hit a solo homer and stroked a two-run single. William Contreras and Austin Riley also homered with the bases empty.

L.A. Dodgers 5 – PITTSBURGH 3… Chris Taylor’s two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning proved to be the difference in the Dodgers’ win over the Pirates. Walker Buehler (5-0) pitched two-hit ball over seven scoreless innings.

MIAMI 6 – Colorado 2… Jesus Aguilar, Corey Dickerson and Adam Duvall knocked in three runs apiece as the Marlins topped the Rockies. Pablo Lopez (2-3) allowed two runs on five hits over eight innings.

Milwaukee 5 – CINCINNATI 1… The Brewers cruised past the Reds for their fifth straight win. Avisail Garcia homered and singled home a run. Travis Shaw hit a two-run double.

Chi. Cubs 7 – SAN DIEGO 1… Zach Davies (3-3) limited the Padres to one hit over six scoreless innings and the Cubs breezed to the win. Patrick Wisdom and Anthony Rizzo drilled two-run homers. Willson Contreras added a solo shot.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Houston 7 – BOSTON 1… Framber Valdez (2-0) surrendered a run on five hits over 7-1/3 innings and got plenty of support as the Astros dealt the Red Sox their first loss in six games. Carlos Correa and Yordan Alvarez hit solo homers. Correa also doubled home a run.

DETROIT 5 – Seattle 3… Eric Haase’s two-run homer capped a three-run bottom of the first inning and the Tigers held off the Mariners. Matthew Boyd (3-6) allowed just an unearned run on six hits over six innings.

N.Y. Yankees 8 – MINNESOTA 4… The Yankees doubled up on the Twins to end their four-game skid. Gary Sanchez homered with a runner aboard and Miguel Andujar added a solo shot.

CHI. WHITE SOX 6 – Toronto 1… The White Sox scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to put away the Blue Jays. Adolis Garcia struck the big blow with a two-run triple. Andrew Vaughn tied the game with a seventh-inning homer and lifted a sacrifice fly to score the go-ahead run.

L.A. ANGELS 8 – Kansas City 1… The Angels got homers from Shohei Ohtani, Max Stassi, Justin Upton, Jose Iglesias and Taylor Ward in blasting the Royals. Andrew Heaney (4-3) gave up a run on six hits over 6-2/3 innings.

INTERLEAGUE
BALTIMORE 10 – N.Y. Mets 3… The Orioles used a 16-hit attack to pound the Mets. Maikel Franco belted a three-run homer. Anthony Santander also went deep. Pat Valaika knocked in three runs with a pair of doubles. Bruce Zimmermann (4-3) allowed two runs on two hits over five innings.

TAMPA BAY 3 – Washington 1… Tyler Glasnow (5-2) held the Nationals to a run on six hits over seven innings and struck out 11 in the Rays’ win. Manuel Margot homered to lead off the bottom of the first inning. Mike Brosseau and Mike Zunino produced run-scoring singles in the fifth.

San Francisco 9 – TEXAS 4… Brendon Crawford homered twice and drove in four runs for the Giants in their romp over the Rangers. Mike Tauchman unloaded a grand slam.

Cleveland 10 – ST. LOUIS 1… José Ramirez homered and knocked in four runs to lead the Indians in their trashing of the Cardinals. Shane Bieber (7-3) surrendered a run on five hits over six innings. St. Louis has lost six straight.

OAKLAND 5 – Arizona 2… The Athletics scored all five runs in the top of the fourth inning and hung on to down the Diamondbacks. Chris Bassitt (6-2) gave up two runs on four hits over seven innings.
