Joyce Elaine (Lowe) Reed, age 89 of Georgetown, TX formerly of Rutledge, MO passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in Georgetown, TX.
She was born March 7, 1932, in Rutledge, MO, the daughter of Kenneth Wilfred and Iola Isabel Kintner Lowe. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Richard Reed in 1962 in Miami, OK, and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Joyce is survived by three children, Brenda Brenner and husband James (Jim) of Georgetown, TX, Robert Reed and wife Shannon of Branson, MO, and Kenneth (Kenny) Reed of Dayton, MO, two sisters Janice Hiles of Kansas City, KS, Margaret Mathena and husband Max of Port Byron, IL, one sister-in-law Betty Lowe of Edina, MO, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded by her parents, husband, one son Charles Reed in 2016, one brother Harold James (Casey) Lowe and one brother-in-law Bill Hiles.
Joyce graduated from Baring High School. She was employed as an account manager for Dodson Insurance Group for over twenty years retiring in 1989. Joyce was naturally talented at playing the piano by ear and would even yodel along in her younger days. Her second favorite hobby was reading. Other activities she enjoyed included playing bingo with family and friends, traveling, antiquing, puzzles and she loved cats.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Officiating the services will be Rev. Graig Connell. Burial will be in the Pauline Cemetery at Rutledge, MO. Musical selections will be, How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, Old Rugged Cross.
Casket bearers will be Westley Brenner, Kevin Hiles, Ron Lowe, Brian Reed, Gerald Mathena, Ben McKay.
Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
