Wilmer Earl Holman

Wilmer Earl Holman, 90, passed away Wednesday January 27, 2021 at his home in Tell City, IN.

Born November 10, 1930 in Kirksville, MO, he was the son of the late Squire and Meeda Mae (Daniel) Holman. Wilmer married Wanda Lewis on December 31, 1954 who preceded him in death. He had been employed as a tool and die maker, the general superintendent of a large egg carton plant in Warner Robbins , GA, owned, with his wife Wanda, the Western Auto Store in Tell City and owned and managed rental property in Louisville, KY. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea on the front line and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Kiwanis, Optimist, the Tell City Library Board and had served on the board of directors of Home Mutual Insurance.

Survivors include a daughter Denise Jean (Randy) Millar of Cromwell, IN; sons, Wilmer Dale Holman of Macon, GA and Paul Lee Holman of Tell City, IN; grandchildren, Katie (Bryan) Searcy, Jennifer (Seth) Steward, Greg (Haley Fry) Millar, Nicholas Holman; great grandchildren, Caleb and Isabella Searcy and Marlo and Elsie Steward.

Preceding him in death in addition to his wife and parents, is a sister, Vinita Swisher and a brother Charles Holman.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Green Castle Cemetery in Green Castle, Missouri, under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville, MO.
