Blues Win On Opening Day

St. Louis 4 – COLORADO 2… Oskar Sundqvist found the net twice to lead the Blues past the Avalanche. Robert Thomas set up two goals.

 

PHILADELPHIA 6 – Pittsburgh 3… The Flyers closed with three straight goals in the third period to double up on the Penguins. Six different players found the net. Joel Farabee scored a goal and had three assists.

TORONTO 5 – Montreal 4 (OT)… Morgan Rielly scored at 3:24 of overtime to lift the Maple Leafs over the Canadiens. Jimmy Vesey netted the tying goal midway through the third period. William Nylander found the net twice and had an assist.

TAMPA BAY 5 – Chicago 1… The Lightning scored three power-play goals in cruising past the Blackhawks to mount their defense of the Stanley Cup. Steven Stamkos had a goal and two assists.

Vancouver 5 – EDMONTON 3… Brock Boeser scored the final two of the Canucks’ three third-period goals in putting away the Oilers. Tanner Pearson and Quinn Hughes both assisted on two goals.
