Bulldog Women Come Up Short

The Truman State women started out on fire Sunday afternoon hitting 75% of their field goal attempts and racing out to a 19-point first quarter lead but Southern Indiana clawed their way back, took their first lead with 1:27 left to play and downed the Bulldogs 83-78 on Sunday afternoon.

Truman would take a 66-62 lead into the final quarter but then things turned sideways for the Bulldogs. Their last made basket was at the 8:15 mark and they would miss their last eight shots from the field.

. Hannah Belanger finished with six treys for 25 points. Katey Klucking knocked down five triples and scored 22 points and Ellie Weltha recorded another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Truman falls to 4-2 overall while Southern Indiana improves to 6-1.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday at home against William Jewell. Game time is slated for 5:15 p.m.
