Ann Gadberry

Ann Gadberry, 79, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, December 14, 2020. She had been in declining health for a few years.

Elizabeth Ann Gadberry was born in Powersville, Missouri, on May 11, 1941, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Rash) Gadberry, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Powersville and graduated from Unionville High School in 1959. She then lived in Davenport, Iowa, for a few years working at Oscar Meyer. She moved to Des Moines and worked in accounting at a Principal Investments before she became a full-time Mom. Ann moved back to Unionville after 20 years in Des Moines and was a very active volunteer in community agencies and organizations including the Food Pantry, the Putnam County Historical Society, and keeping records for Powersville Cemetery. Ann like to play Bingo at the Unionville Lions club and in Kirksville. She was also an avid reader. Her greatest joy came with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and in attending family gatherings.

Ann is survived by her son, Roger Gadberry of Unionville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brandon (fiancé Cassie Neidel) Gadberry, David Miller, and Natasha Watford; and two great grandchildren, Riley Watford and Noah Herbert. Ann is also survived by her siblings: brothers Glen (Betty Ann) Gadberry, Geneseo, IL; Bill (Bonnie) Gadberry, Ora Valley, AZ; and Jim Gadberry, Unionville, MO; and sisters Darlene Dooley, Rock Island, IL; Lorane (Clinton) Ford, Phoenix, AZ; Betty (Verlan) Angel, Lake Mills, IA; and Dolly (John) Accole, Ankeny, IA.

Ann was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Gadberry and his wife, Sandy; a niece, Rita (Dooley) Bradley and her husband Joe; and a brother-in-law, George Dooley.

A graveside service for Ann Gadberry will be held at the Powersville Cemetery, Powersville, MO, at 11:30 am on Saturday, December 19, 2020. There will be no visitation. Her wishes were to be cremated.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO.
