Arthur O. Sizemore, age 88 of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Born February 14, 1932 in the Stahl, Missouri area, the son of Okel Calvin and Edith (Sizemore) Sizemore. On February 20, 1951 in La Plata, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Edna Ruth Livingston who preceded him in death on July 28, 1996.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; one infant son; one grandson, Adam Thomas; four sisters, Wilma Kelsey, Helen Boughton, Florence Billington, and Rosetta Williams Klingsmith; and two brothers, Melvin and Joby.
Surviving are six sons and five daughters, Dwayne and Debbie Sizemore of Hurdland, Missouri, Ann and Bill Sutton of Kirksville, Missouri, Jerry and Diane Sizemore of Bevier, Missouri, Rhonda and Jim Madden of Clarence, Missouri, Twila and Mike Claybrook of Gibbs, Missouri, Perry and Brenda Sizemore of Clarence, Missouri, Tim and Gwen Sizemore of South Gifford, Missouri, Teresa and Mike Oren of Augusta, Missouri, Kevin Sizemore of Columbia, Missouri, Steven Sizemore and fiancé Renee Lawrence of Queen City, Missouri, and Tracie and Jacob Huddleston of Macon, Missouri; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Arthur worked several jobs: coal mines in Novinger, Ruby Greene Seed Company, glove factory in Edina, Missouri, drove delivery trucks for MFA and Churchill Trucking, custom combining for area farmers, and raising pigs. Arthur and his wife played guitar and sang in their church. He enjoyed playing music with his friends at local nursing homes and loved playing music with his sons and grandsons.
Family graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in the La Plata Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Virgil Jones. Arrangements are under the direction of the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, MO.
